Applying Make Up

Applying Make Up For Beginners

Apply MakeupApplying make up doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, once you know a few tips and tricks, it can be not only easy but lots of fun.

There are no rules for applying make up. You want to be creative and express yourself. At the same time, you don’t want to look silly. After all, this is your face we’re talking about! You don’t want to look like a clown or a harlot. So it’s important to have some guidelines and ideas for starting out.

First comes the question when applying make up is whether to wear foundation or not, and if so, in what shade? Generally speaking, most women don’t really need foundation. This is especially true for young women. Foundation can often hide your skin and give it a cakey appearance, rather than making it look better. If your skin is clear and generally even, you might want to skip foundation altogether. If your skin is quite uneven in color, then a light liquid foundation can do a lot to solve that problem. Just make sure you pick a shade which matches your skin tone. If you’re not certain, err toward a lighter shade.

Almost all women have a few dark spots or blemishes that they will need to cover up. So when you start applying make up, begin with a liquid concealer. Concealer can go under the eyes to cover dark circles. Then set it with a powder.

Now that you have your concealer in place, you’re ready for the really fun part. Here’s the number one, most important rule about applying make up: take it easy! When it comes to applying make up, less is almost always more. Decide whether you want to highlight your eyes or your lips. Generally speaking, you should emphasize one or the other. Dark eyes paired with dark lips are just too much.

For your eyes, simply brush on one coat of a light, shimmery powder over the entire eyelid, from lash line up to the brow. This will create lovely highlights and open up your eye. For a simple eye, just add mascara. If you want a more dramatic look, apply a darker shade to the outside corner of your eyelids, and blend it toward the lashes and toward the crease. Then add lots of mascara. Applying make up to the eyes can be a bit tricky, but with practice you’ll find it gets easier and easier.

If you’ve chosen a simple, mostly naked eye, then feel free to go crazy with the lipstick. A dark, dramatic shade of red looks beautiful on most women. One great trick is to cover the entire lip with lip liner before applying the lipstick. This makes the color last longer. But don’t line outside your lips, whatever you do. It doesn’t make them look bigger; it just looks trashy and sloppy. If you went for a dramatic eye, use a nude or neutral color lip gloss to add just a bit of shine.

Follow these guidelines and you’ll find that applying make up can be easy and not time consuming at all. And don’t forget to have some fun with it as well.

Stomach Ache Remedies

Adults know all too well the importance of having stomach ache remedies to ease discomfort from time and we all may have a favorite trick that we use on days when we don’t feel up to par. However, when it comes to kids, some of the stomach ache remedies aren’t really helpful. Following are some ideas to help you with a child’s troubled tummy.

Nausea is never pleasant and when you know that your child is feeling ill you want to do everything that you can to make things better. Many over-the-counter medications used to ease stomach pain aren’t well accepted by youngsters. Even some stomach ache remedies made for kids may leave your little one running in the other direction.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a handful of natural stomach ache remedies to use when you don’t have and medicine on hand? Wouldn’t it be even better if those nausea remedies were well received by your child? Of course you want your little one to feel better as soon as possible and with as little struggle as possible.

If your child will drink tea, you have a couple of solutions at your fingertips. Keep a stock of Chamomile tea on hand. This tea is a natural stomach ache remedy that is a pleasure to drink. Your child will be feeling better in a few minutes after having some of this calming tea and after getting a little rest.

Peppermint tea is another natural stomach ache remedy appreciated by people of all ages. I personally prefer drinking Chamomile tea because the peppermint flavor doesn’t seem to go with a beverage but this is just a personal preference. If I’m feeling ill, I don’t mind a cup of peppermint tea at all.

Benefits of Aloe Vera

Do you know the benefits of Aloe Vera?

There is a long tradition of using plants and herbs for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. There are many claims made for the benefits of aloe vera, a succulent plant native to northern Africa. The plant has supporters all over the world and is a common sight on the shelves in health food stores and herbalist’s outlets.

Aloe VeraThere are countless citations from people who say that they have enjoyed the benefits of aloe vera for medical complaints. It is popular with people from different countries and backgrounds but there are certain sectors for which it is advisable not to use it. Pregnant women should not use it or anyone suffering from hemorrhoids or irritable bowel syndrome.

Skin conditions are said to improve when treated with clear gel taken from the aloe vera leaf, such as eczema. Cuts and burns are treated too resulting in reduced inflammation and pain. It is said that the gel boosts the immune system. The sap, which is at the base of the leaf, is used to treat digestive disorders, chronic constipation and low appetite. Athlete’s Foot is another condition that can be treated with aloe vera.

The Indian sub continent promotes the plant and it is part of the culture there. In Pakistan, the benefits of aloe vera have been recognized for hundreds of years. People routinely take a mixture of aloe vera and herbal seeds after meals if they suffer from indigestion. The people of the Hazara region in Pakistan believe that the nutrient value found in the gel gives them more stamina. The Indian state of Tamil Nadu use the plant in their cooking, incorporating it into home made curries.

Other cultures use aloe vera in their cooking. It is a common ingredient in yogurt in Japan and Koreans put it in some beverages. In addition to medicine and food, aloe vera is often used in products such as shampoo, moisturizers, soaps and sunscreen. This is because of the benefits of aloe vera in preventing dry skin and scalp.

There are numerous products on the market, including creams for skin problems and heat lotions for aching muscles. Aloe Vera is also sold as a nutritional supplement, blended with other vitamins, minerals and herbs. Some of these blend the plant with ginseng, reishi mushroom, ginger oil, turmeric and folic acid. Enthusiasts can also take aloe vera in the form of a drink, blended with fruits such as apples, cranberries, pomegranates, peaches, grape seed and blackberry.

Treatment of Anxiety

Through the years of working as a social worker I have been case manager to many different people. I worked for government agencies for twenty years so this has meant that I work in a variety of areas. I have special training in working with children and families, but there have been times when I have been transferred to work with the elderly and adult mentally ill because of agency staffing patterns. In some ways it gets frustrating being moved from one population to another, but it also helps me learn about different disorders as well as services that are available. Basically helping people, no matter what their disability, is being able to listen to what they need and finding services to address those needs.

One disorder that is common among all ages of the population is dealing with anxiety. Everyone becomes anxious over different things in their lifetime. For most of us anxiety disappears when the event or situation is over, but for some people with generalized anxiety it is not this simple. They are individuals that need to be involved with a professional for treatment of anxiety. This can be done effectively in a number of ways.

For some people the treatment of anxiety needs to begin with individual counseling so the person has a chance to discuss the types of things or situations that are anxiety producing for them. This also gives the therapist a chance to access if the person would benefit from medication. As the person advances in their comfort level in their treatment of anxiety they may be moved into a group counseling session. Speaking and interacting in a group setting is a very common fear. Being able to address this fear with a group of others that understand and support you can be very healing.

For the people that are so anxious and nervous that they cannot go out in public the treat of anxiety may need to begin with the therapist coming to their home. This intense level of anxiety can become so paralyzing for the person experiencing it that they develop physical symptoms. Their breathing and heart rate can become affected and they may develop ulcers. Many people in a severe anxiety attack are rushed to the hospital because those around them assume they are having a heart attack.

Anxiety may develop at any age in a person’s development. Many times when it develops in adults it is following some type of trauma. This is often referred to as post traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is quite complex and takes a different approach than dealing with the treatment of anxiety. Many members of the military develop post traumatic stress disorder as a result to exposure to intense military action. For them anxiety is one of many complicated symptoms.

Bath and Body

Ever want to spend a day at the spa? I can’t think of anyone who hasn’t but I also can’t think of anyone who can afford this luxury on a regular basis. If you have a desire to pamper yourself then you may want to consider investing in bath and body products that can help you create your very own spa in your very own home.

SpaBeauty is more than skin deep. It requires a whole regimen of exercise, eating right and it also involves a little papering. Bath and body products are very important items in any beauty supply stock. Just taking a few moments each day to lavish in lovely scents and skin softening agents will make all the difference.

You can find an endless array of bath and body products in many online stores. I like to buy these items as collections rather than piece by piece. For example, you can opt to buy a spa gift basket for your bath and body supply at a pretty reasonable price. If you try to buy the items separately, the cost will add up.

So what should you look for in bath and body products? The first thing you want is quality. Since you can save money by buying gift sets or bath and body product collections you really want to balance that will excellent quality. Consider your favorite beauty spa supplies when browsing.

One of my favorite manufacturers is Bath and Body Works. Their products are outrageously wonderful and I have filled my bathroom with their line of bath and body supplies. This company offers endless options and you may find that this is going to be your one and only stop on your spa venture.

The Bath and Body Works Company has all of the home spa supplies that you will ever need. The fragrances are absolutely wonderful and I have some favorites that I just won’t do without. One fragrance helps me rest while the other is invigorating.

The invigorating fragrance is Moonlight Mist. This dreamy scent comes in a number of different bath and body products but my favorite is the seaweed firming lotion. You will see the results after a couple applications and you will smell astonishing.

The other Bath and Body Works fragrance that I keep in stock is called Sleep. I buy the candles, linen sprays, bath gel and body lotion in this fragrance. These bath and body products have become a regular part of my nighttime routine.

Hair Removal Cream For Women

Do you ever find yourself judging current products that are on the market based on experiences that you had with them in the past? I know for myself if I have had a bad experience with a product I most likely will not try it again even if friends tell me that it has been improved. This can be a bad thing however I do not like to waste money on a product that I think will not perform well.

Legs Hair RemovalMy daughter convinced me to take a risk with a product that I had sworn I would never use again. When I was in high school there was a very popular television commercial for a hair removal cream. I loved the commercial and decided that I would try the product. My mother did not think that a hair removal cream was a good idea so she would not buy it for me. When I was a child I was given a generous allowance for cleaning the house and starting supper in the evenings when I returned home from school. The allowance was to be used for school events, movies and other activities that I wanted to go on. I could also buy things with it; however my parents paid for most of my clothing and hygiene products. I used my allowance money to by the hair removal cream. It was summer time and I was going to a pool party at a neighbors house so I wanted nice smooth legs. My mother knew I had bought the cream. Her only comment was to make sure that I followed the directions. I was in a hurry so I only glanced at the part of the directions that said how long to keep the product on. The product had a very strong chemical odor. I put it on my legs and then looked around for my swimsuit and did some other things. I left the product on longer than I was supposed to, but I did not think this was any big deal. I wiped it off quickly and went to the neighbors house. My friends were lying in the sun so I sat in the sun by them and we started talking. I sat in the sun for over a half hour when one of my friends asked me what was wrong with my legs. They were covered in rash. I went home and took a shower, but the rash lasted for three days. It was painful and because of being self conscious about the rash I wore long pants during very hot weather so a beach party. My mother looked on the bottle of the hair removal product and it said not to go out into the sun for three hours after applying it. It also said to wash it off with plenty of soap and water. I did not.

That was the only time I used the product. My daughter was telling me about using a similar product and how great her legs felt and that she did not have to shave for two weeks. I tried the product again and found that it did work very well.
